Professor José Antonio de Saja Saez
José Antonio de Saja Saez has been a Full Professor of the Condensed Matter Physics Department of the University of Valladolid for more than 30 years. Nowadays he has a permanent position as Emeritus Professor of this University.
His research activities have been focused not only in the Condensed Matter Physics field but also in the area of Materials Science and Engineering and more specifically in polymeric materials and in organic semiconductors.
During his extensive and prolific career he has authored around 300 publications in JCR journals, 10 books and he has been supervisor of more than 30 PhD students. He has ruled more than 50 public funded projects and more than 70 private funded projects.
He is a well-known scientist that in the last years he has received several awards in recognition to his extensive scientific work. In 2003 he was given an honorary doctorate by the University of Galati in Romania.
In 1984 he founded the “Industrial Testing Laboratory of Castile and Leon” (LEICAL) and in 1999 he co-founded, together with Professor Rodríguez-Pérez the CellMat Laboratory of the University of Valladolid.
